Theft of Services

No person shall place any solid waste in a solid waste container for which they are not paying for service. Placing solid waste in a container for which you are not paying for service is Theft of Service.

How to report Theft of Service:

 If the offense is in progress, and if someone is in the act of placing waste in your container, call the Pennsylvania State Police at (570) 593-2000. Try to obtain a description of the person and license number of any vehicle being used in conjunction with the offense.

 If the offense has occurred, and you have the license number of a motor vehicle used during the offense, report the incident to the Pennsylvania State Police at (570) 593-2000. The State Police will determine ownership and file a complaint against the owner. Again, always get a description of the person com- mitting the crime.

 If the offense has occurred, and you don't know who is stealing service from you, inspect the illegal trash to see if a name, address, or other identification can be obtained. If you can determine who is stealing service from you, call the Pennsylvania State Police at (570) 593-2000.
